Important: This app is designed to work primarily offline and store your data locally on your device. We (the developers) do not receive or access your personal financial data unless you actively choose to share something with us (for example, by emailing us).

1.1 Data You Enter in the App
The App allows you to manually enter and manage your personal finance data, which may include:
Accounts (e.g. “Cash Wallet”, “Bank Account”)
Account type and currency
Income and expense categories (e.g. “Salary”, “Food”, “Shopping”)
Individual transactions:
Amount
Account & category
Optional notes
Date and time
This data is stored locally on your device in the app’s storage (e.g. local database and secure storage mechanisms offered by the platform).
We, as the developers, do not automatically receive or collect this information on our servers.
1.2 App Settings
The App may also store the following settings locally on your device:
Theme preference (light/dark)
App Lock PIN (if you enable it)
Other in-app preferences or configuration options
The App Lock PIN is stored locally to control access to the App on your device.
We cannot see or recover your PIN. If you forget it, you may need to clear the app data or reinstall the App, which will erase all locally stored data.
1.3 Technical Information
The App itself does not intentionally collect personally identifiable technical data such as IP address, device ID, or location. However, certain non-identifiable or aggregated data may be processed by:
Your device’s operating system (Android/iOS)
The app store provider (Google Play Store, Apple App Store)
Any platform-level analytics automatically provided by those services
This information is processed according to those third parties’ own privacy policies.
2. How Your Data Is Used
Because all your financial data is stored locally on your device, it is used solely to:
Display your transaction history, summaries, and charts
Calculate totals such as:
Monthly income
Monthly expenses
Net balance
Per-account totals
Support features you use, such as:
Account and category management
Filtering and reporting
App lock (PIN protection)
Theme selection
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
All expense and income records, categories, and settings are stored locally on your device using the app’s internal database and storage.
If you:
Uninstall the App, or
Clear the App’s data in system settings
your locally stored data may be permanently deleted and cannot be restored by us.
3.2 PIN and App Lock
If you enable the App Lock feature:
Your PIN is stored locally on your device.
It is used only to verify access to the App.
We cannot view, reset, or recover your PIN.
For your security:
Do not share your PIN with anyone.
Use a strong device-level lock screen (PIN, pattern, password, or biometrics).
If your device is lost or stolen, someone with access to your device may still attempt to access your data.
4. Data Export and Sharing
The App may offer options such as:
Exporting data (for example, as a CSV or similar file)
Sharing data through apps installed on your device (e.g. email, messaging apps, cloud drives)
When you choose to export or share data:
The exported file may contain sensitive financial information.
You are responsible for where you save or send the file.
Any third-party service you use for sharing or storage (e.g. email provider, cloud storage) will handle that data under their own privacy policies.
We do not automatically receive a copy of exported data unless you explicitly send it to us.
5. Third-Party Services
At the time of writing, the app:
Does not actively integrate third-party advertising networks inside the user interface.
May, in future updates, integrate privacy-respecting analytics or services to improve the app.
If we add any third-party services (such as ads or analytics) in the future, we will:
Update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
Clearly identify what data is shared and why.
Please check this page periodically for updates.
6. Children’s Privacy
Expense Tracker is intended for general audiences and is not specifically targeted at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data via direct contact (e.g. email), please contact us at info@thewebdesigns.net, and we will delete that information as soon as reasonably possible.
7. Your Rights and Control Over Your Data
Because your financial data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it:
You can view and edit your transactions, accounts, and categories inside the App.
You can delete individual records or clear all data by:
Deleting items within the App (if supported), or
Uninstalling the App / clearing its data from device settings.
If you have any questions about how to access or manage your data, you can contact us at info@thewebdesigns.net.
8. Data Retention
We do not store your financial records on our servers.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as:
The App remains installed, and
You do not manually delete the data or uninstall the App.
Once the App is uninstalled or its local data cleared, your records are typically not recoverable.
9. International Users
The App may be downloaded and used in different countries.
However, since the App stores data only on your device and does not transmit your personal finance data to our servers, cross-border data transfers by us do not occur.
Any data you choose to share or back up using third-party services (e.g. email, cloud storage) may be transferred or stored in other countries according to those services’ policies.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to:
Reflect new app features or design changes
Comply with legal or regulatory updates
Improve clarity and transparency
When we make changes:
We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
In some cases, we may also notify you inside the app or via the app store description.
Your continued use of the App after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
